Customer and staff favorite: Twistbe's experience with Neurosonic

At Neurosonic, we want to understand how our technology supports recovery in different everyday settings – both in client work and in employee wellbeing. At Twistbe, Neurosonic has been in use for some time as part of the operations at their Helsinki studio-store. Based on their experiences, the chaise longue has become an established part of both staff and customer recovery, with effects that can be seen concretely even in data measured by the Oura ring.

Neurosonic in employee wellbeing

At Twistbe, most employees work in roles that require constant focus, decision-making, and customer interaction. Throughout the day, they need to be able to shift from one task to another, stay present, and maintain clear thinking.

In such cognitively demanding work, it can be surprisingly difficult to “switch off” or reach a state where the body and mind can truly begin to recover. Meditation or breathing exercises require active engagement – and often precisely when recovery is needed the most, it can be hardest to concentrate.

“At Twistbe, the wellbeing of our customers and employees is the foundation of everything we do. We were looking for a way to support recovery easily, without requiring extra time or effort from our employees. Neurosonic immediately seemed like the right solution – its scientific background, ease of use, and deep relaxation effects convinced us,” says Twistbe co-founder Kati Partanen.

Neurosonic works extremely well in this context. It requires nothing from the user: no focus, no specific state of mind, no active effort to relax. Recovery is activated directly through the nervous system – even when the mind is still full of the day’s tasks. Neurosonic essentially “takes responsibility” for relaxation while the user simply lies down.

For many in the Twistbe team, this has been decisive: when relaxation doesn’t require effort, it is easier to surrender to it. And the effects are noticeable – both in how they feel and in their Oura data. Some team members were so inspired by Neurosonic that they even decided to get a mattress for their own homes.

Having restorative moments during the workday is extremely important for maintaining balance in the nervous system and supporting optimal functioning. If heart rates remain elevated day after day without recovery breaks, the nervous system goes into overdrive, making it harder to recover both during the day and at night.

The image shows an example of an over-activated nervous system, where heart rates remain elevated throughout the day (Oura data):

Neurosonic combined with its own soundscape or other forms of meditation is a highly effective way to guide the nervous system into a restorative state, even in the middle of a busy workday. The image below shows a day when a person completed a 20-minute relaxation program combined with meditation, resulting in slightly improved recovery.

How do Neurosonic’s effects show up in Oura smart ring data?

“At the beginning of the year, we launched a ‘€1000 more salary by sleeping’ challenge, during which our entire staff started using Oura rings. It’s easy to see the effects of Neurosonic in Oura data – and also which program is the most beneficial for each individual,” says Partanen.

Busy, work-filled days are common for most people, and it’s not always possible – or even necessary – to change them completely. What truly matters is how we balance the load with restorative moments. The images below clearly show how a hectic day affects sleep quality when there are no recovery breaks during the day or in the evening.

In comparison, when a Neurosonic session is done in the evening after a busy day, it already brings a significant improvement in sleep quality across several metrics: HRV increases, heart rate drops earlier, and sleep becomes more restful. Neurosonic has been a concrete aid in restoring REM sleep and balancing the nervous system.

And which programs are the staff's favorites?

12 min Activation a good program for a coffee break
22 min Recovery if there is more time, for example during a lunch break
39 min Relaxation – great for recovering after a day at work

Neurosonic in customer use at Twistbe clinic

Twistbe’s service offering includes a range of skin care and wellness treatments, as well as device-based therapies such as LED light therapy and Neurosonic.

Customers often use Neurosonic either before a treatment or afterwards when they want to deepen their relaxation. Most choose the 25-minute program and describe the experience as a “reset for the body” – a complete restart.

“We often have friends coming in together. While one enjoys a facial treatment, the other relaxes in the Neurosonic chaise longue. Customers feel it’s the perfect way to spend a restorative moment together,” says Twistbe founder Veera Brückler.

Neurosonic is now also available affordably with a monthly pass – Twistbe has just launched Neurosonic subscriptions, which allow customers to enjoy sessions regularly. The passes provide an easy way to benefit from Neurosonic every week or even every day – with the most affordable option starting at just €35/month.
